Rev Lex Liberatore, Pastor (he/him)
Pastor Lex Liberatore, originally from Geneva, New York, was ordained by the United Church of Christ in October of 2006. Prior to becoming a pastor, he spent many years in service to causes relating to housing security and other social issues. He earned his Master of Divinity degree at Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School. He has served as pastor with the United Church of Christ since 2006, and joined First Congregational UCC as our settled pastor in January of 2024. He moved to Platteville with his wife, Amy, in late 2023. They have one child, Luka, who lives in Ohio with their spouse, Al.
Kar Holloway, Office Manager (they/them)
Kar Holloway is originally from Preston, Iowa, raised one of ten siblings. They moved to Platteville with their husband, Joe, in 2010 after graduating from Loras College with a BA in English Literature. They are parents of two children, one of whom passed away in 2020, and they are very proud of their 18 niecephews. They have a great love of all animals, especially their two snakes, one leopard gecko, and several fish. Their special vocation is in working towards a more just and equitable world for all people. They are pleased to serve this open and affirming congregation!
Nancy Fairchild, Organist (she/her)
Nancy Fairchild earned her Bachelor’s degree in music education from UW-Platteville and master’s degree from the University of Illinois. Following a 40-year music teaching career she retired in 2018 from the Platteville schools and UW-Platteville where she taught every age from kindergarten through college. Nancy’s post as organist and music minister with United Methodist Church began in 1975 and continues today. Outside of music, Nancy enjoys long bike rides, swimming, volunteering, reading, watching sunsets, spending time with her four grandchildren, and traveling the world with her best friend and husband, Dan.
